Please get your measurements professionally done, at a suit hire outlet, menswear store or tailor. Your suit will be made up to the measurements that you provide us with. If you have to do the measurements yourself please read the instructions on measurements carefully (Please note we can not accept responsibility for incorrect measurements supplied).
Establish your chest size by measuring from behind around the fullest part of your chest, then verify this size by trying on a coat of the same make and body fitting that you will be ordering.
This measurement is not usually required. Please note that on the normal figure, overarm is approximately 6? to 7? larger than the chest. If required measure from behind around the fullest part over the arms.
This refers to the difference between your chest and pant waist. (On the ?perfect? figure this is usually 6? i.e. 42-36)
A tall coat is 1 S? longer than a regular. A short coat is 1 S? shorter than a regular. If a specific length is required, measure from the bottom edge of the felt undercollar, straight down to the bottom of the coat.
1. Observe from an off the rack garment if the sleeves need to be shortened or lengthened and if so by how much.
2. Measure the sleeve of an off the rack coat and add or subtract the required amount to arrive at your sleeve length.
Note: Measure inside seam from armhole to cuff with coat flat on table.
A tall vest is 1 S? longer than a regular.
A short vest is 1 S? shorter than a regular.
If a specific length is required (See below.)
Measure from the top of the center-back seam, around and straight down to the full length required. (Crossover should cover belt.) (1 S? to 2?)
Measure from the top of the centreback seam straight down to the length required so that the trouser waistband will be completely covered. (1 S? to 2?)
Measure over shirt at your natural waist.
This determines rise and unfinished leg length.
A tall rise is S? longer than a regular.
A short rise is S? shorter than a regular.
If required measure inseam as follows:
1. Be sure try on pant is sitting comfortably on your natural waist.
2. Pin point to correct length.
3. Remove pant and measure flat on table on inside leg seam from crotch to length as pinned.
Measure straight across the trouser leg (flat on table) at knee, then double. The knee is approximately 3? higher than the midpoint of the finished inseam.
Measure straight across the trouser leg (flat on table) at the bottom, then double.
If your off the rack coat shows a diagonal breaking at the back, front, or both.
If you bend forward more than normal. You will notice your off the rack coat kicking out at the back and opening at the front (the vent may also overlap).
If you have a military stance (you hold your head and shoulders back) you will notice your off the rack coat crossing at the front and the back hitting at seat (on a vented coat the vent may spread).
If your off the rack coat shows a roll below the collar. Front may also open at bottom. (On a vented coat, the vent may spread.)
I bought two skirts, one blouse and a jacket in different colours. The quality is great and the price is good. I only wished they had more colours and materials to choose from.
